Note:

The 42 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) reductions for Lexington in the 2027 Fiscal Year were taken from the Superintendent’s Budget Book published in January of 2026. Recent budget amendments and rehirings, as reported in The Lexington Observer as of May 29, 2026, have reduced layoffs to a net loss of 11 positions.

One FTE is also not necessarily equal to one person. A Full-Time Equivalent position is the proportion of workload done by a staff member.
